Dear Parents,
Upper Elementary outings to “El Rancho” in Ghodras will take place on the following days :          Grade 6: Wednesday May 23, 2012
Grade 5 :Wednesday May 30, 2012
Grade 4 :Wednesday June 6, 2012

Students will be engaged in activities throughout the visit. ( mechanical bull riding/ horseback riding  /archery/ tour in the El Rancho’s truck/tour in the dairy product factory/tour in the Dakota village to see real Indian tipis /visit to the farm)

Students will  have lunch at El Rancho.
Students are required to wear their sports uniform on the day of the trip.

The cost of the outing is 25, 000 LL/child

Dear Parents,

Sagesse High School is organizing a ski trip to “Piste Warde” Mzar- Kfardibyan in collaboration with Lebanon Skiing Group on the following days:

Thursday March 15, 2012            Grade 4
Friday March 16, 2012                 Grade 5
Friday March 23, 2012                Grade 6

Students who will sign up for the ski trip are required to be at school at 7:15 a.m. on the above mentioned days.  Buses will leave school at 7:30 a.m. and arrive back at school at 4:30 p.m. Parents are asked to be prompt in dropping off and picking up their children.

Mr. Labib Waked and teachers from SHS will accompany the students.

The cost of the 1 day ski trip is $90 / child and includes ski equipment, ski pass, ski instruction, snack, lunch, transportation and insurance.

In addition to the ski uniform, please send with your child the following items:
Sun Protection cream for face and lips, sun glasses/ski goggles and gloves.

Please note the following:

• The Grade 6 midyear exams begin on Monday February 27, 2012 and end on Friday March 2, 2012.
• Tuesday February 28, 2012 and Thursday March 1, 2012 are reading days.
• Wednesday February 22, Thursday February 23 and Friday February 24, 2012 are in-school  revision days. No new material will be given. Students can ask questions and ask for further clarifications on certain concepts.
• You can pick up your child at 2:00 p.m. on exam days. Please notify the supervisor on the floor if you are picking up your child at 2:00 p.m.

       Students who go by bus will leave at 2:45 p.m.as scheduled.

Dear Parents,

 

Our school is participating in a fundraising campaign on behalf of the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), which has been functioning on full scale since April 2002, in affiliation with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and works in association with the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).

We are proud that our students, your children, will be among those who will contribute to save lives of young children stricken with cancer.
CCCL covers all costs not covered by insurance and families are never asked to pay. Therefore, CCCL is supported primarily by public contributions.

The  Math-A-Thon is a fundraising math program that is designed for students of  grades 4 – 6  and simultaneously runs in more than 60 schools across the country.

The Math-A-Thon fun books will be provided to students having the permission of their parents to participate – free of charge.
Each fun book contains 50 problems and participants are asked to sign up sponsors who will pledge at least 500 LBP for each of the 50 problems that are completed.

To further encourage the participants, CCCL have designated three prize zones whereby the participant will be eligible for a relevant prize zone in accordance with his/ her pledges.( please see attached brochure )

We are looking forward for your support and your encouragement for your children to participate, since such events serve as a fine example for our students in the area of community service and further enhance their concept of helping other children who are less fortunate than them.

Our teachers will be more than glad to help our students and will also extend support to the parents who need our help in this issue.

Dear Parents,

The Upper Elementary Math and Science Fair at Sagesse High School will be held during the third week of January. The Math Fair will be held on Wednesday January 18, 2012 and the Science Fair on Friday January 20, 2012 during school hours.
All students are required to participate either in the Math Fair or in the Science Fair. The deadline to submit either the Math or the Science projects is Thursday January 12, 2012.
Students can work individually , in pairs or groups ( maximum of four students/group).Students’ projects can be based on research, investigation, models or demonstration.
Math and Science HoDs and teachers will be available on Wednesday November 23, 2011 from 12:15 until 1:00 p.m. in the reception room to answer all your questions and queries.
