CIRCULAR ADMIN No 13/AY11-12
November 23, 2011

 

Dear Parents / Students,

We would like to inform you that the following activities are offered this year at Sagesse High School during second break. The schedule of the various activities is as following:                                                                    

Mondays Grade 1, 2, and 3:
Taekwondo/Art/Ballet/HipHop/TableTennis/Cheerleaders/LatinoDance/pottery
Tuesdays for Grades 4, 5, and 6:
Table Tennis / Taekwondo/ Pottery / Hip-Hop / Latino Dance/Ballet/ Folk Dance / Zumba/Safety measures
 Wednesdays for Grades 7, 8, and 9:
Table Tennis / Taekwondo/ Pottery / Hip-Hop / Latino Dance/Ballet/ Folk Dance /Zumba/Safety measures

The Activities will start On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday December 5, 6 and 7 according to the schedule mentioned above.

We would like to clarify the following points:

1- The HoD will choose one activity for your child after he / she indicates his / her preferences.
2-If the student is part of a team (Basketball, Volleyball, Football), then he/she may not choose another activity.
3- In case there are no more places in the student’s first choice activity, then the second choice activity would be adopted.  The Head of the Sports Department would decide in this matter.

CIRCULAR ADMIN No 12/AY11-12
November 15, 2011

 

Dear Parents,

 

As of Thursday, November 17, 2011 students are required to wear their winter uniform to school.

Winter Uniform:           SHS long sleeved shirt and tie
Grey SHS skirt or school jeans for ladies – Grey trousers or        school jeans for gentlemen
SHS sweater. SHS blazer and /or SHS raincoat
Navy socks (or dark stockings for ladies) and black shoes

  • The SHS grey trousers/grey skirt and blazer are mandatory on  official events.Winter Sports Uniform: SHS sweat suit and athletic shoes

All students must abide by the school dress code.

CIRCULAR ADMIN No 11/AY11-12
November 10, 2011

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This is to inform you that Sagesse High School is planning to offer a “Study Hall” service for students, in Grades 4 to 9 (except Gr.9 LP), everyday of the week from 3:15 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

This service aims at providing students with a chance to study and do their homework at school. It involves group settings, of at least seven students, supervised by qualified teachers who will help students understand and do their homework in the following subjects:
- Math             
- Sciences
- English
- Arabic
The cost is $250 per month.

 

It is worth mentioning that while SHS is offering this service to its students it is by no means a guarantee that enrolled students will pass or overcome their weaknesses  especially if they are not serious, refuse to cooperate and do not show commitment to their work and studying.
If you are interested in enrolling your daughter/son in the Study Hall, please fill in the form (next page) and return it to the concerned head of division before Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

CIRCULAR ADMIN No 10/AY11-12
November 10, 2011

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This is to inform you that the Sagesse High School is planning to offer after school reinforcement sessions, for Gr.4 to Gr. 12/IB2/Sec. 3, everyday of the week from             3:15 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

This service accommodates the needs of students to improve their academic performance and will be offered as follows:
A group, of at least six students, of the same grade level taught by a specialized teacher in each subject. It is intended for students who need extra attention to help fill in the gaps they have in particular subjects.Theduration of each session is 50 minutes and is scheduled 8 times/month (In some cases the session would be 90 min and is scheduled
4 times/month).

The cost is $200 per month per subject.

It is worth mentioning that while SHS is offering this service to its students it is by no means a guarantee that enrolled students will pass or overcome their weaknesses  especially if they are not serious, refuse to cooperate and do not show commitment to their work and studying.

October 25, 2011

 

Dear Parents,

We would like to inform you that Archbishop Paul Matar will preside at the Opening of the Academic Year Mass celebration on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Georges Cathedral – Beirut Central District.

Students are required to wear the Official School Uniform (Blazer, grey trouser/ grey skirt, blue shirt, tie and black shoes).

You are invited to participate actively in our community celebration for a prosperous and safe academic year.

Please note that this day is considered as a regular school day.

The Teachers’ Syndicate decided to go on strike Wednesday, October 19, 2011. However, in accordance with the decision taken by the SGEC-L, Sagesse High School is open, but classes will be suspended.

CIRCULAR ADMIN No 05/AY11-12
October 17, 2011

 

Dear Parents,

 

The members of the Medical Services Office at Sagesse High School wish you a good and joyful academic year and would like to draw your attention to the following points:

 

Accidents:
All students benefit from an insurance concerning accidents during school hours (including trips).
In case of emergency, the school will immediately notify parents and transfer the student to the hospital for treatment.

 

Illness at school:
In case of illness during school hours, parents are required to take the student home.

 

Chronic Illness:
If the student suffers from any chronic illness, parents are asked to notify the school’s Medical Services Office about it at the beginning of the academic year.

 

Taking Medicine at school:
For students who need to take medicine during school hours, a medical report should be submitted to the Medical Services Office. The medicine should be placed in the infirmary before 7:45 a.m.

 

Permission to be absent from the sports class:
Excuses to be absent from the P.E. period should be taken from the Medical Services Office at the beginning of the day and submitted to the P.E. teacher.
If the student wants an excuse for more than one day, the student should submit a medical report to the Medical Services Office specifying the duration of the excused absence.
If the excused absence exceeds fifteen days, the student should be referred to a doctor assigned by the school.

 

The school’s protective isolation:
In case a student has a contagious disease, the Medical Services Office has to be notified. The student will be placed in protective isolation and parents will be informed.
Before the student returns to class, s/he should submit a medical certificate, to be approved by the school doctor, certifying that the disease is no longer contagious.

 

The Ministry of Health recommendation:
A student with a temperature of 38° C or more should not attend school. Parents of students who develop a raise in body temperature at school will be asked to take their children home.

Tabet after his meeting with the Parents Association and their apology for the unacceptable behavior of some parents regarding the school decision concerning the parents’ pick-up time, he decided to postpone the implementation of the decision till the opening of the road between the preschool building and the main campus.

October 10, 2011

 

Dear Parents,

 

We would like to inform you that the school is responsible for your children from 7:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.. Children who arrive earlier than 7:00a.m. or stay after 3:00p.m. are on their parents’ responsibility since school personnel will not be available to take care of them except if they have after school activities or sessions.

Parents are to pick their children between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00p.m.. Please, note that parents are welcome into the school premises starting 2:20p.m.

Supporting the rally organized to prevent the extension of high tension power lines above the residential areas in Al-Mansourieh, Ain Najm, and Ain Saade, some of our secondary students will participate in the rally tomorrow, October 5, 2011 during school hours.
