Welcome to Sagesse High School (SHS). Our school is one of the pioneer IB Schools in the Middle East that is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). Students who may enroll in the IBDP are foreigners or Lebanese students who must have received, prior to enrollment, an exemption from Arabic language study from the Equivalency Committee in Lebanon. At SHS the IBDP is offered in English. This, two-year international program is a demanding pre-university course of study that leads to examinations and is designed for secondary students aged 16 to 19. Students are required to study both the humanities and the sciences.
The IBDP is recognized by the Lebanese Government and is equivalent to the Lebanese Baccalaureate. Students awarded the Diploma are given a full year of 30 credits and are admitted to the sophomore year at university in Lebanon. Students who are not awarded the Diploma receive a Certificate and are admitted to the freshman year at university.


The IB Diploma Program Curriculum offered at Sagesse High School consists of:

All Diploma candidates at Sagesse High School are required to complete six subjects:
-  one from each of groups 1 to 5 and a sixth subject, an elective from groups 3 & 4. (science and humanities candidates)
-   one from each of groups 1 to 6 (arts candidates)
In addition all IB Diploma candidates must take Theory of Knowledge, write an Extended essay and complete a CAS (Creativity, Action & Service) program.
